Ok, I’m not really pining for pinning. I couldn’t just couldn’t resist the poetry of it. But many people are pining for pinning. Like, 20 million people. And now I’m on Pinterest too.
Why did I join, when just a short while ago I was wondering what the heck was so appealing about pinning? Like that old expression says – if you can’t beat them, join them. The exponential growth of Pinterest shows no sign of slowing down. It has become part of political campaigns. It is changing the way companies brand. It is causing marketers to reevaluate how they do things.
For me personally, it came down to this: Pinterest is a way to connect with people.
It is a medium to share. It is an easy way to seek out like-minded people. And I want to connect, to share, and to find common ground with people. As an entrepreneur seeking to expand my business, I care about building relationships, and establishing mutual trust.
Therefore, on Pinterest I’m sharing where I’ve been, where I want to go, the things that make me laugh, some of my favourite books, and what inspires me. It is a space for me to be honest and open about who I am, and what I care about. Anyone interested in being in partnership with me as a franchisee needs to know these things. And it launches conversations with so many amazing people I’ve never met in real life: women, men, parents, entrepreneurs…the possibilities are endless.
So come pin with me!
